2Not crap. He "stars" in what is in my top 5 best movies of all time, American Movie. So unintentially funny, but very genuine. Probably not as great a filmmaker as subjuct, but not crap because American Movie is so good.

3NOT CRAP, he seems honest and really sincere, that counts for something.
I got to meet him when he crashed my buddy's wedding. Next to avoiding ex-girlfriends and the wedding itself, talking to him was probably the most interesting part of the evening.
American Movie is killer.

4i've heard alot about this guy but never bother to see anything he's done yet.
after seeing this topic, i put him on a tivo wishlist. maybe i'll get something from sundance or ifc if the simpsons aren't on at the same time.

6'American Movie' is probably one of my all-time fav's...it took me a second viewing to realize that this wasn't just another mockumentary, although there are so many funny scenes in it, esp with Mike and the Black Sabbath 'homage'

7The place where he gets beer was near the music store I took drum lessons at, hey.
...and now that "reality TV" is rampant and documentaries are a dime a dozen, the casual observer just may not get the same thrill we did in the theatre watching American Movie.
I really hope "Northwestern" comes out.
