Hello,
I am selling a bunch of stuff. It’s all good stuff, with defects duly noted. I will go to eBay if I must, but I’d rather sell to the kind people of this forum. Anyone in Chicago gets preferential treatment, but I’ll sell to anyone, pretty much. It’s mostly stuff that I have used for recording and just don’t play enough to keep around.
OK, here’s what I am letting go:
Ovation Magnum I (1980ish). Favored by Jamaicans and Jah Wobble. The Magnums are real nice basses, and the Magnum I is the best of the bunch, and this is a very nice Magnum I. The massive custom neck pickup sounds truly great. It has more low end than any other pickup I have heard. The bridge pickup is nice and bright. Has the little mute slider thing on the bridge, which is cool, esp. w/the deep neck pickup. Stereo or mono output through the dual output jacks. Graphite-reinforced neck is eminently playable. In excellent shape with original case. It looks super cool, and it's a steal at $500.
Ampeg V4 head (1968ish). The V4 is my favorite amp in the universe, but I have too many of them. This one works fine, but I haven’t done any work on it. It may need some elementary maintenance (caps, cleaning, etc.). The V4 is basically a 100W version of the SVT, with a preamp that is suitable for either guitar or bass. Selectable midrange control, “ultra-highâ€
