I ordered my MD421 mic clips from Sweetwater, and when I opened the box.... Laffy Taffy and Bit-O-Honey. Ha, how ridiculous and random is that? I love Sweetwater now. They have earned my loyalty. Musicians Friend tends to have some better prices, but I'm glad to have a reason to switch from a Guitar Center company. I've also heard good about their personal customer service guys. I was kind of annoyed when I emailed them once, about a mixer, and the guy kept calling me. If I email you, I want you to email me back, but that's just my personal social issues ha.

Sweetwater rules.I think the candy is a nice touch.If you tell them not to call, and they call again, say I said stop calling or I'll never buy from you again.I told them to stop calling and they did the first time. That's how it went with my friends as well. Dealing with the same person every time I call has been helpful.Also, they actually know stuff. They have opinions on, you know, the gear they sell. I was actually talked down to a lower cost conversion box once. It saved me $100.They always answer my questions, the products are good, the catalog is great, and they carry stuff that I actually want. I sometimes even learn from their catalogs.They were always great at the TapeOp conventions.Other than your local music store, assuming they are cool, you can't do much better than them and Nova Musik. Neither are chains and neither actively work to put your local out of business.Why on earth would you support a GC company over them?Not Crap.-A

i bought a mic there a couple years back and the dude cold calls me to chat to this very day. i look at buying something else like fucking an old girlfriend. it just opens up the door to constantly having to talk with them again.

exactly. i wouldnt even mind quite as much if it was a no bullshit sales call. hey, we have a special on this, just letting you know. its hey bro, hows that u195 working out? two full fucking years after i placed an order for one OVER THE INTERNET. i went to the site, added to the cart and paid. next morning (8.30am , which pisses me off), i get a phone call from some random dude to chat about it. this gentleman proceeds to phone rape me for the next two years and counting.

I bought Sibelius 6 from there and sure enough, free candy.They called me once, I said I was in the middle of something, and they never called again. One of my roommates has something coming from there soon, so we'll see if there's candy involved...
