i would like to listen to our live mix im trying to record through headphones while playing in a three piece. i have a shit behringer powered mixer/pa connected to my tape deck in and out. if i have a headphone splitter/amp what output from the pa do i connect to the input of the headphone amp if there is one. i basically dont know if my pa has the proper output to connect directly to the headphone amp. nor do i as of yet have the headphone amp so i assume it accepts 1/4. my pa has mains out to pa speakers (speakon) and 1/4 inch monitor out (to active wedges) and RCA tape outs (can i use my tape recorder headphone jacks????)

any help would be good, ask for more info if i can provide

Hooking up your headphone amp to the tape players headphone output is a good idea, since you are mixing for the tape. What comes out of the PA is unimportant; you need to know what the tape machine is being fed.

Oh yeah, i just thought of something. If you hook up headphones to the tape deck headphone-out then you might not hear anything unless the tape machine is in record, or in record and on pause.
