In my humble opinion Kylesa is an apex of psychedelic tinged hardcore. A heavy blend of many a heavy music.
Their site has a couple of great songs of theirs on it. http://www.kylesa.com/site/downloads.html#

Most profoundly NOT CRAP.

Outstanding band that will likely only get better with time.

I'll admit that I miss the band's first drummer, Chris. Everyone else in the band looked like your basic crusty punk, he sported a pomp of Johnny Cash height. He played drums that were just huge (not the size of the kit, but the size of each individual drum) and hit them very hard. he also owned his own wine shop in Savannah, GA.

He left, I think to pursue the wineshop full-time. he was a nice guy, I miss him, but Kylesa are still just terrific.

I'm no real fan of the heavy stoner/psych rock thing but my band played with them in (ironically) Bismarck, ND and they were really, really great folks. I got a lot of enjoyment out of their set if only marvelling at their sheer vlolume which was staggering.

Kylesa, I may never buy one of your records, but you are NOT CRAP.

I remember seeing them in Youngstown, OH. I thought they were awesome before I saw them live, now I really thought that they were awesome. After the set, I saw one of the guys and said "Great set." In an almost Keebler elf-like voice he said "Thanks". Then I liked them even more.

Youngstown? Shotgun, did you go to Emissions from the Monolith? Did you know Greg is selling the Nyabinghi? That's a tragedy. Best small venue for heavy music I've ever visited.

I've seen them a couple times, including there (I think) and opening for High On Fire. A fantastic live band with a gripping, idiosyncratic sound.

Just saw them with the two-drummer line-up. Just outstanding, GIANT improvement from the '05 shows. Closed with a 6-7 minute crust-metal version of "Set the Controls For the Heart of the Sun." A-MAZING.

They're excellent. They're one hell of a band to see live. I saw them with Colisseum and Torche, so this was a night of extremely loud bands. I wasn't digging their recordings, because it didnt measure up to their live set at all. However, "Time will fuse..", captures the live experience well. Its a great record.
