New Crain Stuff

Good to hear! Yeah, it's a very microphonic sounding piece of vinyl to my ears. Glad to see someone is giving the recording some justice. Some of my favorite recordings where done in that era of Steve's basement recordings like the first records by Wreck and Big'n amongst many others.

For those keeping score, the Speed reissue came out yesterday with 4 bonus tracks and it sounds glorious. I wish I knew what bass guitar and amp setup were used on this record, as the bass tone on this record totally destroys me, especially on "King Octane" and "Car Crash Decisions". Such a good growling sound. Props to Will for the drum work on this record as well. The snare sound? Full-bodied. Fierce.

I know, I know, this post is veering into giddy fanboy crap, but so be it.

In summary: It is good that this record is back out in the world.

got my copy the other day. as a longtime fan of the vinyl (got it at the record release show, glow-in-the-dark cover, yeah), i gotta say the remaster is, as said upthread, sooooo much better. i've been listening to it constantly since saturday. so psyched since additional stuff may come out too?

Thanks...yeah rumor has it that if this goes well, Temporary Residence may be interested in releasing the pre-Speed stuff we did from Sound on Sound Studios, a few of which were on the 7"s. I think there were 17 tracks total from that session.
