NOT CRAP

I love this group. Especially the guy with the really deep voice (I'm sorry I don't know his name). He's got the best vocal tone of any rapper I've ever heard. They've got some great tough beats as well.

'What's Golden' gets an extra not crap for the use of the Chuck D sample,"...When I'm on stage I rage, and I'm rollin'...".

So not crap!

I hate to use the term 'old-school' in general, but J5 has some serious old-school cool going on. I really like this group and I think their DJs are phenomenal.

You're right, Cranius -- that guy's voice rules. I don't know his name, either.

J5 are one of the first newer rap groups I've like in a long time.

caveat: I own several CD's and like this group, but I vote CRAP for a total like of authenticity

I enjoyed this movie, but I only saw 1 and 2. I did not know they were already at the fifth iteration. Perhaps I should watch less MASH and chew my food 32 times before swallowing. Then I wouldn't have the severe diarrhea that prevents me from straying too far from my toy let.

I think Jeff Goldblum is a talented actor. I read a story about Frank Zappa meeting Jeff Goldblum in a rest au rant. They exchanged pleasantries, and both parties were fans of each others works. I heard Jeff's favorite FZ album is Ship Arriving Too Late To Save A Drowning Witch, which is not my favorite (not even close). It just goes to show that everyone has an opinion.

Jeff Goldblum was also in The Karate Kid, but no one remembers.

I second the crap vote. even though tunafish has one of the best voices in hip hop (second only to Guru) thats not enough to save them from being crap. I've never been able to get into or like rap music that seems to have been made for white people.

I don't think its the authenticity issue, but the fact that it is totaly "safe" music....i mean my mom would probably realy like these guys.

of course i could be wrong as my only exposure to them has come from the few videos they had on mtv2 and people who know nothing about hip hop asking me if i've ever heard of J5.

Your entitled to your preferences, but I’m curious whether there are any other genres of music which you believe shouldn’t appeal to well-educated people.

A significant share of the fans of non-hip-hop groups such as Shellac, Wire, Can, Tortoise, Slint, Don Caballero, Silkworm, Mission of Burma, Deerhoof, etc, are the high muckety-muck types who read fancy books, too. Do you dislike these bands for the same reason. Why or why not?
