Quick question:
Is it worth it to pay $15 + train fare to see the band LOW on a school/work night?

The new record is fantastic, as is the last one.
I'd say yes.

Anyone have any live mp3 clips they can share? Soulseek isn't being kind at the moment.

They are an excellent live act, esp if yr in a venue where you can sit down.
One of my favorite things about them is their somewhat prickly live persona, Alan in particular seems to have a weird, slightly antagonistic relationship with the audience (who, when they are all "shushing" each other can be pretty annoying). I remember being really suprised by this the first time I saw them, mostly becasue I didn't expect it.
They have also been known to pull out great covers live.
I have not seen them recently, but I know people who have seen them play the new material live and the reports are it is great. I would go see them when they are playing Minneapolis, but I am playing a show that night.
$15 is baragin

Worth just about any amount of money to see live, really. I've probably seen Low more times than I've seen any other band, and have certainly traveled more to see them than any other band. I have never seen a Low show come close to being bad. Go!

I saw them shortly after Things We Lost in the Fire came out
The trains run behind Solar Culture, so it often adds an interesting dimension to some of the shows
Usually, people laugh/snicker when the train goes by during a set, but most everyone was too caught up w/ their show to really bother
I'd say pay the $15 and go, my man
Is Zak Sally still with them? I remember him playing a nice TB bass

Yes. He was with them yesterday when they were on the new local "alternative" radio station.

Ah. There was talk of him quitting somewhere. Probably one of those Pitchfork rumors that they never followed up on.
