Haven't heard them myself, but apparently they were the only act Jandek checked out at the Instal festival last year. So you 'n' Janky are together on this one.

I've kept one eye on Six Organs for a while checking out every other release or so (there are a lot) and been quietly impressed. Comets On Fire are, I think, great, so I was chuffed when Mr Chasny joined full time.
Saw them last week and they were marvellous.

Anyway, the new Six Organs is very, very good. I would report on the gig he did at the 12 Bar last week, but it was full of scenester wankers and journalists so I couldn't get in.

I had not heard sooa prior; can anyone tell me how the older albums compare?

I saw this dude open for Ghost last September. It was really boring. It might have been because immediately after his set Ghost kicked all sorts of ass, but I found myself checking my watch a lot, waiting for him to say, "this will be my last song". I haven't heard any of his records though. So, based on my live experience. CRAP.

based on a live show and limited studio listening i give him a crap with some waffles. the quieter stuff is ok.

watching some guy on stage freaking out and playing the same chord super loud over and over is not my idea of a good time. i left ten minutes into the first wave of ridiculous noise.
