Nah. NOT CRAP at all. I picked up Fando y Lis when it came out on DVD a while back, having never seen it. It was great, unsurprisingly. Criterion should issue Holy Mountain and El Topo, I think.

saw el topo. not totally sure what i thought. read pauline kael. she made a pretty convincing case that it's just sensationalist crap. she did go a bit overboard i think though, i think because she was angry since she saw in a theater in which teens were laughing at the rape scenes, which would be understandably infuriating. if i see holy mountain, and maybe rewatch el topo, i'll make up my mind on this one.

I saw Holy Mountain -- it was interesting... there were parts that bored me and other parts that I thought were really engaging. I liked the ending, where you see all the cameras and the whole film's just basically a joke. I think it's worth checking out if you can stomach it... kind of gross in parts. I haven't seen anything else by the guy.
