I saw them open for Wire in Atlanta a couple of years back, and was kinda irritated by them. I thought their music was derivative and not too good, though they were a fun live band. I have since changed my mind about them, after hearing more of their stuff. NOT CRAP.

They're OK. I heard that Nate thinks he's a better writer than Robert Fripp, though. I heard he's a bit big headed. No, he's definately not better than Fripp, and Fripp's not even the high water mark of progressive rock. That puts Nate and the boys at OK in my book. I have both their albums (I dunno, did they put out another one), and saw them twice, but haven't listened in a while. The last time I listened to the one with half and half and half, I ended up turning it off halfway through the second song.

I notice they've gone from headling shows to being 2nd in a lineup of 4 bands... The big headed-ness is good way to stunt one's musical growth, and in fact will cause a recession.

Ok band. I'll give them the "Not Crap" vote, although I think only half and half and half of the material on their albums is any good, (I guess that would be 12.5%) and the rest is a sort of musical masterbation.

The wireless thing isn't anything new. The fact that they can run around the audience is just a sign that their shows are sparsely attended.

To me, the thing that makes a great art/prog rock album is having a cohesive theme to tie it together. You can do this with instrumentals. The last few Luttenbachers records do this very well... Oxes fail to do this. There's good nuggets of math rock here and there, but they fail to have that cohesiveness and solidity...

haha
what a load of vacuous hogwash. if you feel that way, vote "crap" for christ's sake.

anyway, not crap. regardless of how "art"/"prog", popular, or somethin somethin somethin somethin they are, it boils down to two things: they're fun and they rock m'pants.

It appears that we differ in the ways we evaluate music. You, sir, seem to be thinking with your genitals. I think the "Prison" drummer guy is handsome, but I'm not attracted to men. So this is not a factor.

I voted "not crap" because there is some stuff I like. They have potential, but I think with the Peel sessions and people in the UK kissing their asses, their heads are getting even bigger, which won't help.
