Steve wasn't recording the Foo Fighters. They recorded here though. I don't know what else they want people to know, so I'll leave it at that. Not to be mysterious or anything, just 'cuz I don't know.

Seeing Steve on the new FF album trailer it looks like he recorded with them?I mean, I saw him at the mixer console and setting up drums so it left me the impression he was recording them.

My guess is that Steve engineered and Butch produced. Crazy to see that blue baritone Pat Smear had. It looks at exactly like one I sold a few years ago. I can't imagine there are too many of that shape and color.

So...Steve didn't do anything for the session. He got interviewed, and the show kind of makes it look like they were recording with him, but they had their own crew assisted by our own Jon San Paolo.James Brown (UK engineer) and Butch Vig (US producer) were the dudes...

Damn, a shame.This whole Sonic Highways thing is definitely cool, but to me it would make a lot more sense to get the local engineers deal with the recording.I mean, the song recorded at EA has nothing to do with EA in terms of sound, and that's because the recording was done without the people working at EA.

Im enjoying watching this show, but I agree that they should have had the local producers/engineers do the recording. All the songs kind of sound like they are from the same session to me...
