What? You heard all of Rusty, right?
I love Spiderland but it kicked that arachnid's ass
Oh June of 44 did too...
Mueller and co. just took Slint's sound one step further IMHO

I never thought Rodan copied Slint. Obviously they were influenced by them, but their music was much more technical, and it seemed pretty original to me. Rusty is a masterpiece, and their 8 track demos were also very good.

NOT CRAP but Rusty hasn't held up too well for me. I listened to it about 6 months ago for the first time in 4 years and was kinda disappointed

Rodan were great and Rusty was a great record, but to say they outdid Slint, ummm.... no.
Rusty = great record
Spiderland = brilliant, shining gem of beauteous tension channeled from the heavens through Slint. That record is like a microscope into the unseeable world of the universal psyche. Okay, I'm sorry... I went too far.
From that day forth (Spiderland release), other bands, including Rodan, can only emmulate the newish sound/genre Slint created.
End of argument.

Why do people always have a problem with bands carrying on what Slint started?
Is there only allowed to be one band for every genre or something?
