NOT CRAP! This is an easy one...
I'm still undecided about Crooked Fingers. I love the Red Devil Dawn LP (as well as Reservoir Songs and The Swan LP) but it's kinda eerie how much he sounds like Tom Waits/The Boss

The Archers of Loaf are Not Crap. _Icky Mettle_ is a stunning debut album (song highlight = "Slow Worm"). I have listened to it regularly since it came out. Stunning is the right word. Always good live - sometimes really great. _Vee Vee_ is kind of a Crap album. But everything else they did is decidely Not Crap.
After a solid start, Crooked Fingers has become Crap.

I see where you're coming from, but Vee Vee?
I strongly respect Eric Bachmann--unlike other fallen indie heros of his day (Mascis, Barlow, Malkpuss et al) he more or less has reinvented himself instead of churning out the same butter again and again (Sentridoh, anyone?). If that means having to listen to a few Tom Waits impersonations, that's fine by me.

I'm sorry because I lot of people seem to like them and I'm afraid they will attck me personally, but I don't like them. They do nothing for me. CRAP.

not crap. "fashion bleeds" is one of the best rock songs ever written. the perfect song for a self-absorbed "scene." "icky mettle" is great great great.

A resounding NOT CRAP!!! I believe Eric Bachman is EASILY one of the best song writers from the timeperiod "early 90's-->present". I saw them live in the neighborhood of 11 times, or so. Grinding, nasty tones. Brilliant sense of melody, mixed with the a quirky pop groove, and a WONDERFULLY witty lyrical style. Plus, these were guys you could TALK to after their shows. They weren't dicks like so many other bands out there. GO LOAF!!!
