hello, i am looking to buy a 451. the mic is a bit to pricy even on ebay right now so before i invest in that id like to ask: I AM LOOKING FOR A MIC FOR SNARE TOP/BOTTOM, SPEAKER MICING...PRETTY MUCH ALL PERPOSE CONDENSER MIC. IS THE 451 AS GOOD AS IT IS SAID TO BE? AND IS THERE ANYTHING EAQUAL OR BETTER FOR SIMILAR OR LES PRICE?

i really like Rode condenser mics (NT1, NT2, NTK, etc) on snare. tehy're all decently priced.

You can buy electro voice re20... it's very nice on top snare and is veery very nice on speacker!!!

It was delicious.

It's also the only mic I use for snare tops. Mind you, I don't have that many microphones. Remember that you'd also have to get one of those pricy -20db pads for the 451 if you were using it on snare. That just bumps up your cost right there.
