Routed with a forstner bit or possible just a regular drill bit. I see it all the time. Funny thing is that the early Mosrites, as well as other really cool early guitars were routed with forstner bits and look pretty much just like that. It'll definitely make it harder for the guy to sell but on the plus side, it'll sell cheaper if you're looking for one.

Let's hope that Guild has a short tenon.

I'm going to guess that the rout in question was a bunch of passes with a drill.

It also seems like the Guild "S" series caught abuse on the reg. I'll have to take a picture of the headstock on my S-100.

Ideally a mod is done well rather than hastily, but sometimes one has to heed the impulse.Fuck the sacred cow. Mod on, crazy modder. Better a hack mod than a guitar in some collector's guitar humidor, never to be played again.Fuck the sacred cow, but also fuck jacking up the neck joint. Fuck deadening a formerly nice-sounding snare. I will never say "fuck making it do what you want it to do" if you are doing that with awareness of how the thing works to begin with.

I suppose people think, "if it ain't a Fender or a Gibson, it ain't worth a dime".This is really disgusting though. Did they even try to make it neat?
