Hello, hello. Have merged all Kaji-Pup related threads here. This original one is as follows....This is friendly spam for a new release on Kaji-Pup Records, œIntertwined Destines b/w œCrimson Gold by Leila M. & Tired of Triangles. This practically just came out ¦You can pick up the 45, as well as stream and download the digital version of this release HEREA bit about the band ¦Leila M. & Tired of Triangles is a duo based in Southwest Florida. We met via the internet. The style we play falls somewhere between Middle Eastern music and heavy rock. At the core of our sound is the interplay between Leila s tanbour (a traditional Persian stringed instrument, with percussive qualities), and my electric guitar (a Reverend Double Agent piped through a Cloven Hoof into a tiny Fender amp). For a more in-depth description of our sound I recommend reading our bio on Bandcamp. And if you re interested, you can also play our music via Youtube:And our FB page is here. And I think that s it. Hope you like it. Cheers.

Hello again. This is friendly spam for a new release on Kaji-Pup Records, œThe Drowned World b/w œZ.F.G. 7 ¦.and I think you should cold check it!The A side, by duo Leila M. & Tired of Triangles, is less a song than it is a brooding atmospheric soundscape about J.G. Ballard s second novel of the same name. Leila s tanbour playing, ever-lovely, has never sounded more pristine. The B side, by my solo band Tired of Triangles, is a fuzzed-out rock track with post-punk and psychedelic leanings, not to mention a lot of moving parts and ample œattitude. Thematically it s about not giving a fuck about petty fools and doing your thing, whomever you are (as long as you re not a Trumper!). It was made around the time shit got real, here in Florida, with Hurricane Irma, and it came off a little more œintense because of this. Lindsey Charles of the Cell Phones handled lead vocals on the second verse (which came off really great), and Leila did back-ups during the Delta 5-y part.Chris Goosman mastered the digital version and did a fine job, but then his lathe broke and Carl Saff stepped in to cut the lacquer. The end result is pretty rippin on the ol hi-fi, with some nice non-muddy low-end. Gotta Groove did a nice job on the pressing too.You can hear and/or pick up a copy on wax or 24-bit digital (or ALAC/FLAC/mp3/etc. HERE.This is an under-the-radar release you probably will never read about in the indie press. I would be more than happy to field any questions/comments about this, but we could just as soon use this space to discuss Bertrand Tavernier s My Voyage of French Cinema.Lovey-dovey, haven't quit yet,Dave

Hello again. The German non-profit Urban Arts Berlin has just issued another one of its nifty compilations of artists from all around the world. This one is called Ballardian Soundscapes and as you would surmise it consists of music inspired by the work of the late J.G. Ballard. Am pleased to report that Leila M. & Tired of Triangles' "The Drowned World" made the cut!!You can stream and/or purchase Ballardian Soundscapes here: https://urbanartsberlin.bandcamp.com/album/ballardian-soundscapesPerusing the tracks a lot of them seem to embody a darker, dystopian, electronic-based sound that fits right in with new brutalism architecture and some of Ballard's unnerving storylines. A few of the tracks feel reminiscent of Zoviet France, which isn't a bad place to be. I look forward to downloading it this week and listening to it while reading and whatnot. Will probably sound great in headphones. As for the split 7" (Kaji-Pup 02) featured above, there was supposed to be a review of it in the same Egyptian music site that reviewed the first one. They liked this one even better, but I guess they had a shake-up with their staff and it got put aside indefinitely. So here's a band photo we took for them last Winter that was never published:And here's a bonus photo of Mogul Cheevis, a.k.a. Kaji-Pup:AND...we still have some them thair 45s. Always love to dispatch them to the fine people. No other music is in the works, at the moment, so there probably won't be a new Kaji-Pup release until 2019...Ciao,-Dave

Hello again. I don't know how much, if any, interest there is around these parts with regards to my musical endeavors, but this week Kaji-Pup put out its third recording, Up at 4 A.M. - The Definitive Version. This is a revamping of the debut Tired of Triangles record, which came out a few years back, now available for the first time on CD (as well as 24-bit digital download). Every track was remixed, with a few overdubs added or replaced, to take advantage of better software/gear and my ear for, hopefully, putting together better mixes. The release was mastered at Chicago Mastering Service and I'm way more happy with the way it sounds now. It is kind of an "insular" and moody album, made for late night listening, so if you want a party record I'm afraid Up at 4 A.M. - The Definitive Version won't do the trick. But it has its charms and judging by your posts I think most of y'all could hang. None of the tracks were quantized or polished up with autotune. You can check it on Bandcamp HERE, or test drive it on Spotify HERE if you like. There are also six tracks from it on Youtube, a few of which are posted below.Lovey-dovey,Dave
