A couple of questions...- Let's say you magically had that loop right this minute. How are you going to record anything else(if I'm not being too much of a busy body)?- How simple are we talking on that drum part?

I know - total waste of a Tech Room topic.I'm doing a recording for Prince month in the PRF Tribute Challenge, and I need some drums. I *have* drums, but my Portastudio is messed up; and the stuff needed to mic, mix, and record into the computer is... well, not worth my time for a single song that maybe a dozen people will ever listen to. The drum track for the number I'm doing is dead simple, anyway.I just need like a 10-minute loop. How do I do this? I am COMPLETELY clueless is ABSOLUTELY EVERY FORM of recording that doesn't involve a physical hardware cassette or SD card 4/8 track.

Would it just be easiest to have someone make a loop, and put it up for you to download and slap in Audacity?

Good to hear.I was actually going to suggest that you could just download the Reaper demo, and easily put a beat together in it. In addition to that, Reaper might be easier to record in than Audacity while having a more "In Depth" set of features. You know what? I will suggest looking into Reaper no matter what.

I can figure out how to import a file, one assumes. That said, I know there are free loops available on the internet: is there a preferred source for grooves?

FM numberthirty! I got it!DLed some 808 samples and... well, I made a MAD STUPID FLY DOPE beat, but totally fucked it up when trying to loop. So I went back to straight kick + snare, and it's good. Thanks!
