4i need to adopt some sort of cleaning schedule for the studio beyond just clearing the coffee cups away. last night i took a firm, dry paint brush to my console just to clear away the dust and even just cosmetically it looked so much better. i hadn't realized how much dust had accumulated. whats your regimen for keeping your gear and studio spaces clean, organized, and dust free? what do you use to "wipe down" things like tape machines and mixing boards?

5I've got a vacuum cleaner attachment kit that has small brushes for detail work. I use this on my board, rack gear, and keyboards every couple weeks. If I need to wipe something, distilled water on an old t-shirt works well. Won't remove silkscreen on vintage stuff, won't leave a residue, safe for electronics once it dries.Get some old bed sheets and throw them over amps and such to keep dust from accumulating.

I would think this would have certainly worn off the painted numbers/indicators etc on the desk!Ha, no. We do that every couple weeks. We'll do a vacuum with that ghostbuster shoulder vac a bit more frequently. The murphy's is very gentle, and we use only a tiny bit with a tiny bit of water, hence the print on the strips is still intact.Oh man, thank god. I have had random moments over the past few weeks when, out of nowhere, I think to myself I cannot fucking believe they do that after every session.Seriously, it's been eating away at me and I don't know why. What's wrong with me.= Justin
