Hello,I'm a new one here (apologize for my poor English!!).Is anybody knows about the mic AKG c-451c ?It seem to be the 451 version of the 70', before the 451-e.Do you know if it's as good as the e version? Thanks !

Hiya,The "C" version is identical in preamp electronics and the CK-1 capsule to the "E" version. The only difference is the "C" has a DIN connector instead of the typical XLR.

Ok, many thanks. For the DIN connector, i think i can use an adaptator without any sound affect. But it means that we cannot change the capsule (that a second huge difference!!).Someone sells a pair not far away from me. I will think about it

I think you can still unscrew and change the capsules within the CK series (or use the blue/ red ones meant to fit those bodies).

I finally purchase 4 AKG 451E for a good price, 2 with CK1 capsules from 1985 and 2 from the sixties with CK1 and CK2 capsules  ! I'm really happy and impatient to test it on drum (in replacement of my AT2020 and SM57).It seems difficult to find a swivel joint for a good price on ebay. Any idea for me  ? Thanks to your advices, i also bought a AT4033, for guitar mainly, in replacement of my chinese ribbon mic (or in association with!) .I'll try to send a file when i'll finish a session.
