I have recently come to think of the Dazzling Killmen as a sort of avant-metal Minutemen. So, by simple logic:
Dazzling Killmen : Minutmen :: (crap/not crap status of Dazzling Killmen) : (crap/not crap status of Minutemen)

Dazzling Killmen are good, Minutemen are good. Minutemen are Not Crap

Wow, been a long time since I listened to any of their stuff.
I remember laughing good and hard after hearing the "stare at the neighbors" lyric in one of their songs ("my lacerations"?).
They were great. Not Crap.
Colossamite was pretty good, too. Well, except for that Moody Blues inspired tune, but it was at least absurdly funny the first time I heard it.

There was a bassline on one of their songs that was good. Kind of menacing.

Other than that - crap.

You actually said "avant metal", so nothing in this post that follows that phrase can be taken totally seriously. Perhaps you should post again and omit this.
