Orange Amplifiers with Minimoog

1
I'm looking at buying a old vintage Minimoog Model D. I'm wondering what affordable amp manufactured by Orange Amplifiers https://waveadvice.com/orange-amps/ would be a good match for the Minimoog. As an added criteria, I want to be able to run a bass guitar through the same amp (though not simultaneously). I would post this same question on the Orange Amp forum, but I want only Moog enthusiasts to help me on this one. Thanks!

I've owned a crapload of vintage synths (Model D included) and a vintage OR120. I have very little experience with modern Orange amps BUT in general I always found that analog synths (for the most part) sound much better out of a bass amp. Since you are already wanting to play bass out fo the same amp anyway, I'd say you're going in the right direction. So I'd probably look to whatever bass amp offerings they have. If you want distortion flexibility, you might consider ones where you have control over the input gain.Having said all of that, their solid state Orange Crush CR120 is capable of some loud ass cleans on guitar. I don't love the distortion out of it, but some people make fine noise with these.

We had a band in last year with a similar setup - Rickenbacker and a Moog Lil Phatty running into an Ampeg 8x10 and I think like a Marshall 4x12? Guitarist had a Fender Bassman and the Drummer had an old Gretsch kit. Sounded great, really cohesive.Bassist/Synth player had some pedals for the switching process, but I'm fairly sure I noticed a graphic pedal being fed by the Moog. My hunch would be that it was a midrange boost to compensate for the scooped nature of the amps. Synths through amps can be really cool, but sometimes they have that sense of being quite loud without you really hearing what they're doing. Rarely the setting that's perfect for one is right for the other.
