For playing recordings, I presume? Not live music.2 rooms, 1 1300, the other 600.What do "1300" and "600" mean?Budget?Any particular reason why he specified 12 speakers?Any more detail on how you plan to install the ones you have identified?

Hey, friend of mine is opening a coffee shop and wanted to get an audio system put in. I said I'd give him a hand. He wants 12 speakers in it. 2 rooms, 1 1300, the other 600.Here is what I came up with(1) Dayton Audio MA1240a: 60 WPC output at 4 ohms, 40 WPC output at 8 ohms(10) Dayton Audio MK402: 30 watts RMS/60 watts max ยข Impedance: 6 ohms(2) other speakers that are his. Not sure the make but they are 300w 8 ohm.I \_think\_ that all works well together, but it's been forever since I've done this stuff and I'm a bit rusty.Any thoughts?

Out of curiosity, have you considered a 70V system?

It seems a bit excessive to me, but the amp is zoned so that many would give the opportunity to fine tune the volume for different areas.I did some work in a club that used to be an old bank that had a similar setup to help minimize the effects of the space on the sound and also to provide very even dispersal of sound. They used ceiling mounts as well. It sounded pretty good. One quick and obvious tip -- be sure to confirm that the speakers are wired correctly. When I came in and helped out that club owner, one of the first things I did was check speaker polarity. Of course about half the speakers were out of phase with the other half. Helped explain why he was unsatisfied with the bass response. Can you identify the amp?

Thanks for the response. It is for recorded. Ipod type thing. That is sqft of room.I don't know what 12 speakers was specified. It seems a bit excessive to me, but the amp is zoned so that many would give the opportunity to fine tune the volume for different areas. There is conduit on the ceiling that is already wired with speaker wire. Planning on ceiling mounts for those 10. The two others are custom suitcase speakers that I think he's going to mount to the wall.Budget is around 1200.
