Freelancer Questions About Working Out of Electrical
1Hey there folks, Jimmy here. I'm currently freelancing and doing some assist sessions at a studio in Minneapolis, and have been located here since moving here for school after growing up in Chicago. Recent happenings in my life are now suggesting that I will likely be moving back, I toured Electrical a few years ago and loved it. However at the point I move back I am essentially going in completely blind to both the state of the freelance engineer industry in Chicago and the experience working out of Electrical Audio. So here are some questions for you all who have been working out of here fairly regularly:1. It says on the website in order to book a session at Electrical, it typically has to be 3-5 months in advance. Realistically in your experience(s), how accurate is that? Have any of you ever been able to book a session here a few weeks out?2. I am assuming that the rates posted on the website are for the studio space alone, this may seem like a silly question, but going in as a freelancer, I'm guessing I'll be charging my own rate on top of that to the client at my discretion -- is that correct?3. Just generally, how is the industry down there in your experience(s)? Have any of you been able to get clients regularly in the studio if you hit it hard and really work at it?Thanks in advance!!
