I've been trying to learn more basslines from 60s and 70s soul/rnb/motown.
Last song I learned was today "Its a Shame" by the Spinners.
I just love that thumpy, bumpy, brown bass sound.

Loved that Froberg/Reis combo Pitchfork back in the day as well as Rocket from the Crypt but have never given a listen to Drive Like Jehu.

What the fuck is wrong with me? Listening to Yank Crime right now and will buy a physical copy tomorrow and wear it down to a flexidisc.

Also, during the pandemic, another Chavez reissue. Matador is going to end up using this band to take my money in perpetuity.

High praise I know, but this might be turning into my favourite of hers.

Slept on this one from 2020 till recently...
Psychy ethno-forgery jams in just intonation led by the guy who releases solo stuff as Gosheven.

Currently I'm listening to William Basinski's El Camino Real, a longtime favorite: https://williambasinski.bandcamp.com/al ... amino-real
