Roy Montgomery really churning them out now. Havent got anything after the 4xLP's released in one go in 2016 though. How are they? Please don't tell me I need all of them, i'm broke.

I just got an email from Forced Exposure about payment on my preorder for that Gordons LP so I think it’s either available now, or imminent!
Related: I recently got the Matador reissue of Bailter Space “Whammo” which is pretty great. Wish they’d do Robot World next.

Man I think I pre-ordered this in December? Didn't want to BLOW IT like I did with the Dadamah reissue. Goddamnit, that thing was gone in
femtoseconds.

Have both the Gordons and "Wammo" reissues - both sound great, and I believe both were remastered from the original tapes? Would love to see
Vortura get a proper reissue at some point.
Recently picked up a reissue of the
Four Stars (****) comp, which focuses on the Northern Island. Some of it's quite good! Other stuff, eh...

I need to get the Gordons stuff and the Wammo re-master. Got to see Bailter Space in Texas around that time and i remember being so surprised he was playing a Rickenbacker. I just assumed he was getting that sound from something else with single coils.

Alister Parker had a tremendous sound! I got to see Bailter Space a few times. There was some show in Boston back then at the Mid East, a little 150 person club, and he had a Marshall 45 watt half stack, a silvertone twin twelve and I think a third combo amp? Had a big, complex sound without seeming “too loud” if that makes sense.
And yeah he always had that weird Rick 360 with the headstock that was slightly sawed off at the end, I recall?

Read the Roger Shepard Memoir during the pandemic. I knew there was a deep history if NZ music, but the book uncovered a ton of new music for me. Here's one of my faves:

He was definitely playing 2 amps when I saw them, and though I wouldn’t bet real money on it, my memory is a super reverb and an AC30. But yes, huge sound without being door blowing loud.
