Decade Box

Can anyone recommend a good decade box. I would prefer something from 0 - 1 Meg or so 1/2 Watt or better. 1% if possible.

Anyone have any experience using these? Anything I should look out for? Have you found having a capacitor decade box helpful to have on your bench as well?

Mostly I'm going to be using it to work on tube amplifiers for guitars and microphones etc. Maybe the occasional piece of recording rack gear or hifi gear. I'm not going to be using it to repair hospital or aerospace equipment.

Give me convenience or give me death.

I have an OLD gen-rad that does not get too much use, might be handy for deducing what works best...stray capacitance and unknown wattage are reservations i have.
roach clip leads on a pot is how i tend to roll

It's not so much a Box as a jumper board, but I have one of these. 1/2 W 1%. I'm not sure how "good" it is, but it measures accurately and I've used it while working on a Fender tube amp and live to tell the tale. It's not without it's inconveniences, but it meets the need, and is dirt cheap.

Thanks for the hot tips friends.

I will adopt the alligator clip leads and pot strictly on the basis of not having to buy anything and see how easy/annoying that is!

Many many thanks.
