Just discovered this incredible French trio. Not crap. I want to learn more about them.

I saw one of those live for the internet session things with them, was not blown away, to be honest. It's well done. Also, the name?

How about posting a track or two when starting threads like this for obscure french genre-hopping/blurring bands.

Any band in the Thee Oh Sees vein (mishmash of 'cool' retro influences, vocal slap, and high strapped guitars..) is probably ok to see live but there's not much to it beyond that. Bring on the €40 hoodies.

There are lots of really great bands who can take a variety of influences and turn them into something awesome, even when the influences are obvious. The Cramps always stand out as a good example for me - they took a bunch of things they loved, put it in a blender and came out with something really cool.

I am listening to this band now and there's something missing - the blender either didn't mix things up enough or has too many ingredients. I dunno. I'll bet I love almost everything they listen to, and we'd probably have a great time talking about records. I don't think this is for me though.

Yeah. In the case of The Cramps or B-52s there was also a bravery in doing something very unfashionable when it came out, whereas every town now has a Psych Fest with a list of bands doing the psych/jam/kraut thing (the doom aspect is a slightly unique touch I guess). There's just so much music out there, yet it seems like every hip record store has the same 13th Floor Elevators and CAN records on display.. c'mon, dig a little deeper.
