Out of the first three The Wipers records which one do you consider the best/is your favorite?
Ah, I actually didn't realize that wasn't the real sequence. But yes, "No Fair" is absolutely the better opener (side note: the intended artwork is hilariously worse though..)tallchris wrote: Thu Jun 03, 2021 9:37 am Also, I far prefer the YoA tracklisting from the CD boxset where it opens with "No Fair" and "Youth of America".
It's weird that the boxset has the different tracklisting (which I guess is also on some European versions) since Sage remastered it himself!penningtron wrote: Thu Jun 03, 2021 9:42 amAh, I actually didn't realize that wasn't the real sequence. Seems like part of the motivation behind the boxset is that some of those decisions were originally taken out of his hands, or maybe he simply changed his mind about track order and album covers over time.tallchris wrote: Thu Jun 03, 2021 9:52 amIt's weird that the boxset has the different tracklisting (which I guess is also on some European versions) since Sage remastered it himself!penningtron wrote: Thu Jun 03, 2021 9:42 amAh, I actually didn't realize that wasn't the real sequence. I love that I learned this today. "No Fair" sounds like it was written to open an album and "When It's Over" is the last track because...it's over. YoA is the right answer here.penningtron wrote: Thu Jun 03, 2021 9:42 amAh, I actually didn't realize that wasn't the real sequence. On Over the Edge, it's like, did he even mic the drums? And yet, it wins for me too. Side 1 in particular is absolutely incredible.tallchris wrote: Thu Jun 03, 2021 9:37 am Over The Edge, though I wish it sounded as good (to my ears) as ITR? or YoA.
