Non iTunes music player.

Looking for one of these to run my library from my desktop. I don't want it to do any auto-arranging by ID3 tags or anything - I curate my collection in its folders/subfolders how I like it, and don't want that changing by the software.

Tried winamp, but it quit while scanning the library (I assume it has an upper file limit).

Nothing too tricky, as I'm rubbish with tech. If it can stream out to a Sonos easily then that'd be a plus.

I used to like Music Bee, and it looks like it's still around. It's been about a decade since I use it and I can't specifically remember what i liked about it

There are some open source players out there similar to Winamp.
If you can code, you could probably get something like Clementine running the way you like.

I use VLC. It's just OK as a librarian, but perfectly fine as a player.

Yeah I might just do this. It's not ideal but it's less of a ballache and I can stream out through the telly at least.

God Damn. I'd pay good money for a clone of the original Itunes app. It is such a frustrating piece of shit now. I also miss the old clickwheel ipods.

I use Foobar 2000. I can stream music that is on my PC through my phone with it, It's free. The UI is so austere it looks like someone made it in Excel.

I'll have a look at that. Cheers.
