I never turned off Firefox's "pocket" curated link thing on one of my computers, and it fed me this Saveur article in which the author tries to ascertain if bread and butter pickles are so named because you're supposed to make a sandwich with them on buttered bread. He explores the possibility of bread and peanut butter rather than dairy, and as an aside, mentions the peanut butter and tomato sandwich, which apparently exists.

I had only ever known the Elvis and regular PB&J. The range of options has now doubled. What say you, PRF?

Peanut butter and jam is king.

As a kid PB and apple was common, works really well especially if the apples are nice and crisp.

I recently tried PB with kiwi and was amazed how good that was too.

Peanut butter on apple is great. Wouldn't fancy it on a sandwich mind.
