Fret slide. String bend is fine and I enjoy it in a little 1 bar solo, but the slide is for the people. You can even do it on bass.

Bends get a little too close to Crapton for comfort, plus they kill my hands. Pixies and Sugar era Bob Mould are non crap examples though.
Fret slides are always pretty cool, especially a quick fluttery thing between 2 frets.
