Certainly not the raw, libidinous, gutter-funk grooves Betty Davis has a taste for, but her balladry makes the unexpected exceptional and intimate.

Helmet has better songs.

Not one of my favourite Betty Davis tracks from one of my favourite albums ever vs a great Helmet track, I'll go Helmet.

Almost both.

I'm rather fond of her eyes.

God damn, enough with the Helmet. They are mediocrity defined. Oh let's see, a bad-assed, ballsy, take-no-prisoners r&b goddess vs the noise band equivalent of Candlebox. Even between these two songs her groove is tougher than that lunk-headed, generic riff helmet limps along with. Betty Davis by light years.

I like that Betty Davis track quite a bit. I actually find her harder funk stuff to be a little grating, but respect to her, she was a badass of her time.

Helmet blows.

I haven't listened to the Helmet track, but Betty by a wide margin.

I do not know who BD are, but they get my vote on account of my disliking Helmet with no small amount of enthusiasm.
