Depending on where you live, maybe you've already played or seen a bunch of indoor shows in 2021. In these parts (Winnipeg), indoor shows and tour dates are basically only starting up this month.
My first indoor show since February 2020 will be seeing hometown hosers Propagandhi this weekend. I hope they play this song.
How about you?
Re: Yr first indoor live show in plague times
2Been to a few indoor shows recently in Los Angeles.
First one of 2021 though was a local punk band called Dumb Fucks at a venue called The Echo who has a huge young following. All ages show, we were sure that if we were gonna get COVID, it'd happen there. Probably lots of unvaxxed, it being mostly under 30yo crowd.
They always put on a good show and did not disappoint this time either.
Things are basically open again here and proof of vax is required most places I go.

6I went to one last weekend where it was several local hardcore/noise rock bands. Proof of vax was required to enter.
Then I went to see a band from Chicago called Waltzer on Monday at the same place. I was one of maybe 15 people there.

"Whatever happened to that album?"
"I broke it, remember? I threw it against the wall and it like, shattered."

7Saw Bob Mould a couple of Friday's ago. Proof of vaccination / masks while not drinking required. Everyone pretty much complied.

8Going to see Boris the Sprinkler on my block tomorrow. Gonna be a ton of old Green Bay scene buddies there. The venue is proof of vax or negative test required, but seeing as it'll be my first crowded rock club situation since the before times, I'll likely mask up and keep to the back.
Went to see AEW wrestling at the UW-M Panther Arena in late August and we did ok! Indoors with 5000 other people, but we double masked and got lucky with my seat selection (1st row in an upper section, in a little enclave on the short side of the stairwell, so there was barely anyone directly near us). I keep reminding myself that if we were able to handle that, we should be able to handle X-Ray Arcade.

9Yeah, no, not yet. A friend's band played outside in Logan Square a few weekends ago but didn't want to establish a precedent.
It seems like Swans and Shellac are the only US bands that I follow that have cancelled shows multiple times. I had tickets for Einstürzende Neubauten's Chicago show - first row, dead center in the balcony. They keep pushing back their Euro dates and well, I don't think they're going to reestablish a US tour.

10Playing a show in Milwaukee this Saturday. To be honest I’m not super psyched about it, we booked it when things seem to be ‘normalizing’ and the venue requires proof of vaccination, but still.
Nagging feeling that it’s a little irresponsible.
