Australian show about a hitman. Best thing I’ve seen since The Wire.

Super fun. 23 minutes or so per episode, you never get bored.

So, so good! Just finished the final season last week. Don't know why more people aren't talking about this show. Written and directed by the main character. Hope he does some cool stuff in the future!
I also watched the movie it was based on, The Magician, which is from 2005. Interesting that he's had this one idea for such a long time and really saw it through. The series is much better than the movie, though the movie is still interesting. The only problem is that he's so much younger that he just doesn't have the world-weariness and gravitas yet.

Haven't seen it, but the information that it's based on a film is interesting. I definitely read a hitman novel with this title in the late 90s. Neil Cross?

Just a quick think to be aware of if folks are going to watch this one cold.
The final episode of the second season?
Brilliant, but liable to really depress some folks. It's going to depend on where you are coming from.

Don't watch loads of shows these days, but will give this a go.
As far as things made by that production house, I did really enjoy The Elegant Gentleman's Guide to Knifefighting a while back, and have been meaning to watch No Activity.

Raced through this, wildly addictive.
One of the rare things I really wish would just go on forever.

Half way through season 3. Funny aside - our mate Dan plays the younger guy in the child kidnappers’ house. Nice one Dan!
Top series - everyone should see this! It is bang on the money with the casting and script.

Excellent. No firm moral compass is probably pretty realistic for a hitman. Impeccable casting.

Unbelievable show, impeccable storytelling, vivid and lived-in characters, extraordinary blend of pathos and hard-bitten realism. Strongly disagree that it's a blokey show and put in those episodes as clickbait, in context they threw Ray into sharp relief and reminded the viewer not to get too close, that he has a limited perspective and a sanctimonious moral "code". My partner has no time for macho television and found it as engaging as I did. Top five series of all time for me.
