Sometimes I set up Vocoder Karaoke at Illuminated Brew Works Lodge #1 in Chicago. It's like regular karaoke but there's also a vocoder/autotune/pitch change mic. Want to do 'Islands in the Stream' with your buddy but you don't have Dolly's range? Always fighting the urge to sing 'Autobahn' to a roomful of consenting adults? All of this and more is possible. You can also just do regular-ass karaoke.

This is a fantastic idea. I'm a big fan of themed karaoke/open-mic nights. (Disclaimer: I ran an open-mic Jandek cover night for ten years.)

This is the perfect mix of dystopian cosplay and fucking hilarious. Would be there in a flash. Bravo : )

Vocoder Karaoke is this Thursday (Sept 15) at Illuminated Brew Works Lodge #1, up by Superdawg. 8PM. It's free. Robot Ernest Tubb? Chipmunk Highway Star? Vanilla-ass regular karaoke? All of these things are possible.
