Don't know about other places, but here these are used as flavour in certain candies. A typical "old people's taste". I wish it would disappear from the Earth, along with rosewater.

2:1 in favour!? I have your back, kokorodoko. Tastes like cleaning products and old people.

Can I add lavender to list? Does not belong in food.

An odd one but occasionally fun - Maybe I should shake up a few more Aviations.

Rosewater in Iranian desserts is excellent

Lavender, I associate it with my parents house so it tastes like a couch

Orange flower water, there’s a drink with tequila and chartreuse that is A+

I'd like to add mint.
Mint flavor is only acceptable in toothpaste or mouthwash. Or scented toilet cleaner.

Have you ever had a really good Mojito?

Or a mint julep?? jeez

One time we got some really good creme de menthe (Tempus Fugit brand) and some really nice brandy and made some seriously excellent stingers.

Creme de violette is a very nice and useful liqueur, as Ace K has stated. Cannot make an Aviation (one of the nicest cocktails) without it. Agree that rose water and orange water are great too in context of Iranian/Persian foods, especially desserts, and Turkish delight candies.

Mint? Really? WTF? Aside from Mojitos and Mint Juleps, also the Southside cocktail, gin, lemon, mint, simple syrup; it's like a gimlet with mint. Really good. And mint chip ice cream, Junior Mints (frozen, of course), York Peppermint Pattie, Andes Mints. Come on, man!

And course the Stinger cocktail (2:1 brandy to creme de menthe), as mentioned. Such an underrated cocktail. I always had one on my dessert menus.
