'Theater' is probably the appropriate word to use here.

I think it's likely that nothing of substance will happen as a result. I hope I'm wrong.

Yeah.. a scolding from some GOP members on the way out (Cheney, Kizinger) a year and a half after the fact will really deter them from trying this again..

At best, there will be one token administration person hit with a light jail term, but anyone with any power or true responsibility for it will be completely insulated from any consequences whatsoever. As per usual.

Theater.

There aren't enough leaders with courage or fortitude to enforce consequences.

Hopefully, Roger Stone will appear with his usual Ebenezer Scrooge countenance.

Nothing's going to happen. Pointless theater.

Gonna watch Rangers-Lightning game 5 instead.

Echoing others' sentiments: just 'cause heads should roll doesn't mean they will.

It's interesting, because since around when Trump took office I've seen Watergate bandied about a good deal, sometimes with Woodward and Bernstein themselves as panel guests. And yet, when since then has a top-ranking U.S. official been prematurely ousted or gone to jail? It's happened to mayors, occasionally, sure, but no POTUS since Nixon has been ex-communicated from political life. Rather than Watergate being a precedent, in legal terms, the way things have played out, it seems like more of a fluke.
