NC

A lot of parallels with Radiohead. Sometimes difficult to judge them fairly.

A lot of parallels with Radiohead.
I need to strongly disagree with this.

^ The NC?

Or parallels with Radiohead?

They had an MTV hit circa 93/94 just like Radiohead.

Are critically-acclaimed (i.e. won a Grammy) just like Radiohead.

Have (some) annoying fans just like Radiohead.

Please clarify.

I used to love them then Wayne became insufferable, i felt like the spirit of the band changed and even seeing the title of this thread angered me a little. Too many gimmicks.

I think they are more annoying than Radiohead.

They had a very amazing run of albums..... then an abysmal run of albums.... then somehow American Head turned out to be great.

Like I often say on these things: plenty of fair criticism to point their way. None of it reduces just how adventurous and prolific they've been.

the good stuff is just ok (I'd rather listen to Medicine to scratch that itch) and they've been Crap for far longer, so..

Too many great records to vote CRAP.

Their noisy initial 10 year run was great for the most part. Soft bulletin is also VG.

Even if they had been releasing shite for the last 20 years (haven't paid attention really) that old wonderful music can't be erased.

Cant imagine a world without "when you smile" or "Kim's watermelon gun"
