European detective series roundup

Cops generally suck, even if you know a nice cop, and detectives just serve to help a prosecutor put the most convictable person in jail. Very little to do with justice. We are, mostly, in the US here, after all. I bet the real cops of the rest of the world are pretty shitty, too.
But hey, we had a c/nc for Wallander. I could never get that into Wallander because you can only get the British series for free, and that one's not that good, is it? But this whole nordic noir thing has its moments. Detective with bad social skills or a lot of family problems or both. Relatable! Over the top, old-lady-titillating-mystery-novel deaths - more fun than a Saw sequel or a new season of American Horror Story, anyway.
I really liked The Valhalla Murders and The Sinner (which is a US production based on German novels, so I think it counts). The Sinner needed to imply more strongly that sometimes his paramour steps on his balls, but still, it was a fun watch. Bill Pullman is great when he's got some material to work with, and this might be the first time that's happened since The Zero Effect. Although it's hard to keep up, dude is in 10 movies every year.
Deadwind was OK. Too much James Bond from the sidekick. Bordertown and Capitani came off as silly, especially Capitani.
