Sorry Hawkwind. Motorhead all the way.

Motorhead. And I really like Hawkwind.

Both have lots of forgettable latterday filler and/or attempts to re-connect with the zeitgeist.

I find Motorhead's best bits way more exciting. And I think they were a huge "gateway" band, in lots of direction of travel, for a lot of people, connecting punk, metal, Hawkwind, 70's boogie etc.

Motörhead for me.

Hawkwind. Motorhead was a one-trick pony beaten to death. Bomber, Overkill and Ace of Spades are great but the rest I could do without. Hawkwind cover so much ground I love between the self-titled and P.X.R.5 that it's a no brainer for me.

It should be Motorhead but for me it is definitely Hawkwind.

This. Will add that the Robert Calvert years of Hawkwind alone are more interesting and moving than the best run of Motorhead. Add in what came before and some of what came after Calvert, and it's Hawkwind, easy.

I love Hawkwind, but you can't fuck with Mötorhead. Some things are sacrosanct.

Motorhead. It's Lemmy in his natural habitat. Hawkwind is Lemmy in some kind of zoo where he destroys his enclosure and pees in his water bowl.
