I was a bit lukewarm on their recordings, but saw them the other night with Kowloon Walled City, and thought that they really brought it live. I guess noisy rock is more of a live appreciation for me. Not Crap.

Thoughts on these Canadians?

I saw them back in 2017 on a riverboat cruising around the Detroit River with Protomartyr, Preoccupations, and a couple local bands. I thought they had the best set of the night.

I’ve seen them live and I’ve listened to their albums. For some reason, they don’t do much for me. Seems like they should, but they don’t. I can’t call them crap. It’s not you, Metz…It’s me.

The two bands were the opposite in their approach to open space. KWC heavily employs it throughout their songs, and Metz fills every single second with relentless noise. Great show.

I liked their first record, but the next ones were spotty. Don't really keep up with them anymore, but I've seen them live a few times and they were good. N/C

The rest are ok but Albini san style fitted them prefectly on that one.

Vast gulf between how they get it done on stage and what their albums represent. Almost like two different bands in a few ways.

Last time I saw them live they were kinda transcendent. Still waiting for the records to make sense to me.
