Your band name references something from where you are from. For me, it seems that bands from the Saint Louis Metro Area have done this at a frequency more than most cities. At least for the kind of music I like. I don't remember many bands from Kansas City doing this. I don't think there has been a band called The Bob Richards Plane Explosion, but what do I know.
St. Louis (I know I am forgetting some)
Grand Ulena (A South St. Louis intersection)
Jack Buck (Joe's dad)
Times Beach (Contaminated Planned Vacation Community)

Philly has already had Point Breeze, Northern Liberties and at least one other neighborhood band name, but nobody has done Forgotten Bottom yet, which is a shame.
Edit: never mind.
South Jersey is ripe with potential band names. Ong’s Hat, Blue Hole, Old Ancora, Tina’s Bagel Factory…

Parkway Drive - Street in Byron Bay near where the lads grew up.

Haha, I thought this was for imagined band names, based upon the region you're from. Ignore mine then.

It seems like there'd be a ton of (reasonably known) Chicago bands that did this but the only one I can think of is
Haymarket Riot.
(there is PRF affiliated
Marmora, a somewhat obscure Chicago street)

Fine band. Kevin J. Frank is a a talented fella and they even had Brian Wnukowsky drumming for them at some point.

Detroit/MI bands do this a lot. I'm sure you can name some off the top of your head.
