Over the weekend, I stumbled across Roy Orbison’s Laminar Flow at a vintage shop. I didn’t buy it, because $10 is too much to pay for a not-that-funny joke.
The old forum had threads on when rockers went new wave and when metal bands went grunge. So let’s do one on when rockers went disco. Who else is there to add to this list?
Roy Orbison Laminar Flow
The Bee Gees
The Stones “Miss You”
Rod Stewart “Da Ya Think I’m Sexy?”
The Grateful Dead Shakedown Street
Feel free to add links!

The most egregious example is "I Was Made for Lovin' You" by Kiss.

First one I thought of, but I also think it rocks.
Another obvious one: ZZ Top - Sharp Dressed Man

The Fall of covered Chic's/Sister Sledge "Lost in Music"
before making their own disco track:
The Fall - City Dweller

The coda to "Goodbye Stranger" needs a pea whistle and fat rails.

Always felt like that was more or as much new wave as disco.

Seems like many of these 'rockers' did their best work when they went 'disco'.

Love Supertramp.
Kinda wanna know if Hodgson's vocals influenced the Bee Gees, vice versa, or if it was just complete coincidence that they sound almost exactly the same (to me).
