It has been reported in the RIP thread, but this is one man who deserves his own thread. His music and art have meant a lot to this community. Hot Snakes played some of the flat-out greatest shows I have ever seen, their January 2020 pre-covid show at Mad Planet in Milwaukee in particular. Just a supernova of exuberance and joy at that show.
Fuck, this sucks.

Yeah the 2020 Empty Bottle show was just fucking amazing. My last show of the before times. They were on fire and it really, really re-lit a fire in me to be in a band again and see more shows. Sure, COVID happened and slowed that down, but that show was super special to me. Rick man, just a once and life time talent. I feel like shit.

Terrible news. I’ve been a fan of Rick Froberg since the first hot snakes album. Then subsequently got into all his other bands DLJ, pitchfork and Obits.
Love all the music he did and his artwork was amazing too.

Just insanely great, next level bullet rock. What a sad loss.

Really terrible news. I just assumed he’d continue to blow people’s minds with music for many more years. A very important musical figure to me since I guess ‘91/‘92 when I heard the Pitchfork record. Gosh, what a loss. Condolences to his loved ones and all whose lives were touched by him.

Far too young to go out like this. He clearly made a lasting impression on most of us (on a lighter note, I ripped off a few of his projects pretty hard in my graphic design courses..)
