My stupid obscure question is: On the "Head start to Purgatory" compilation (good comp btw, DLJ, rocket, fishwife etc) does anyone know who the unlisted band is at the end (after the Drip Tank track)?

What is that washboardy/scraping sound on The Beatles' Revolution 1 (from the White Album), right before the vocals come in? And who is playing it? And WHY?
