Thinking Fellers. I don't think a month goes by without me listening to this band. One of the best bands of the nineties IMHO. I wish I had gotten a chance to see them live.

Have tried their Matador releases many times

Crap

Though it's more of a not-for-me-crap than a this-is-not-good-crap

But crap nonetheless

Saw then open for Polvo back in the ancient times. Didn't get it then, and when they come on some weirdo mix I have playing, I still don't.

Not crap, not for me.

I really like them, although I suppose I can see how others might not. Not Crap

They were good live, but not so super mindblowing that i'd try to get others to listen. And they seemed consistent from night to night too. My buddies in Red Red Meat toured with them and I saw maybe 4 or 5 shows in the space of a week when I went along on the road with them all. Really nice people at first blush, though I didn't really get to know any of them that well. That was back in...oh maybe '95 or '96...

Also, they did one of the best Peel Sessions I've heard:

One of the greatest and most underrated bands of all time, certainly among the ten best of when they were active. NC.

Kind of disturbed that there are posts that AREN'T anything but adulation and high praise.

OK, the "Feller filler" tracks certainly live up to their namesake most of the time, but the proper tunes are delightfully pure Americana through a 90's art/noise/experimental rock lens. If you're curious to jump into this band, the 'Admonishing the Bishops' EP is a great place to start.

The not crappiest of the not crap!!! Long live the Fellers!!!

In my all time top five bands. Admonishing the Bishops is indeed a great place to start if you want to get a feel of the fellers. Even their last album was great. I'll try to link a track. One of the best live bands I've ever seen. Not crap, ever.
