Bluesky

I've been spending a lot more time on Bluesky than Twitter lately, hardly any time on the PRF to my shame. Anyway, lots of old school PRF people are making the migration there for more public conversations and I recommend it.
For the unfamiliar, Blusky is very much like twitter, but invite-only, so everyone there is vetted to a degree, and the dev team can trace problematic accounts back to the person who invited them, keeping swarming, bots, spam under control. The population is incredibly diverse, lots of queer folk, nerds of all types, activists and artists but also public figures and humorists who don't want to be on the nazi playground that Twitter has become. Everything is much lower stakes and consequently much more fun and engaging and the degree to which they do not tolerate nazis is refreshing.
I have a couple of bluesky invites left and I get one every couple of weeks, so if anybody from here wants one, leave a request here and as I get more invites I'll send them along, but also once you join you'll get your own invites and we can use this thread as a Bluesky clearinghouse.
By no means do I think Bluey replaces the PRF. I love the community here, the history, the openness with information, the caring element... all unequaled elsewhere in my opinion. The long-form and journal type posts here are really only possible here, and threads about process and progress, especially in the Tech Room are unique. But Bluey is great for jokes and keeping up on breaking political activity.
