You can't cast a snarky third vote for Air Miami, Cinerama, or an unreasonable facsimile thereof.

This is a good challenge, Randy.

I love both bands and each are great.

Unrest might have had a bigger impact due to Mark Robinson's Teen Beat label.
But the Wedding Present has a deeper catalog and – as far as know – they are still putting out great new music.

I'm going with the Wedding Present for now.

Heard. Considered adding Pavement as they and Unrest share a certain spirit in early material, plus I'd be remiss not to mention Wedding Present's cover of "Box Elder," but they aren't as savagely jangly as the two contenders.

Haven't made up my mind to vote, but leaning towards the Wedding Present.

Wedding present by a Landslide.

Seamonsters alone is better than 99% of the rest of music out there.

A very good matchup and a tough one for me. I really dig those early Wedding Present singles (there's a CD comp of them, I believe). But the first three Unrest LPs and initial singles all have major moments, up to and including the "Skinhead Girl" 7-inch.

Even though there's more filler, I'm tempted to give it to Unrest for the what-the-fuck? experimental touches they would eventually outgrow. Mark Robinson is also a very underrated rhythm guitarist, lovely textures, a unique sound, and quite a strumming hand. But Pete Solowka's hyperactivity roughing up those Dave Gedge pop songs was pretty excellent, as well.

Ugh. I just dunno.
