Another day, another artsy UK post punk band…
But English Teacher seems a cut above - new album is an excellent thing, moments of beauty in the last track and it seems authentic and incredibly well put together - impressive for a debut from a bunch of kids. I think they trample wetleg, dry cleaning et Al into the dirt - I say not crap and more power to em … and you?
Re: Post-punk dome: English Teacher
3You can catch their BBC 6Music set on the iPlayer.
The drummer is ace and their reference points are very clearly of this parish.
The singer is good looking and prominent.
With all that, they want to be popular and seem very fine with this conformity.
Every so often someone in the band would play something really cool, almost as if to remind themselves and us weirdos that they could be better than they are letting on right now.

4We don't need another band that sounds like Wet Leg and Dry Cleaning. Pass.

5Don't forget the progenitor: Interpol.
We're headed for social anarchy when people start pissing on bookstores.
